05.03. (10-14) P. Bonaventure Bwanakweli, M.Afr. Missionnaire Rwandais en Ethiopie.

L’Éthiopie, pays de tradition chrétienne, ouvert au dialogue interreligieux.

L’histoire de l’Éthiopie nous parle d’une tradition bien riche et de l’histoire glorieuse de l’Empereur Hailé Sélassié ; de diversité et d’identité culturelle bien consciente. Est-ce un passé seulement ou bien une perspective qui permet au pays et au peuple de se profiler dans l’histoire moderne ?

La présence catholique est bien minime dans le mais elle est bienfaisante et permet une ouverture franche entre les Églises et les différentes communautés, en particulier avec la communauté musulmane minoritaire dans ce pays.

Le P. Bonaventure Bwanakweli, missionnaire d’Afrique, originaire du Rwanda témoigne de son engagement dans ce pays.

La presse écrite en Afrique et dans le Congo RDC

Le Continent est connu pour sa vie sociale où la communication a une place de choix. Cette ouverture est d’ailleurs à l’origine de bonnes relations et elle devient source et promotion de vie et de promotion.

Est-ce que les moyens de communication modernes peuvent promouvoir la vraie communication. La question est posée et d’une façon particulière pour la presse écrite.

Le P. Placide Lubamba, formé à cet art de la communication comme journaliste nous donne un état des lieux pour l’Afrique et le RDC Congo ;

“La santé pour tous”:

Depuis 25 ans déjà Memisa est au chevet des malades et travaille pour un meilleur service de la santé à travers le monde, en particulier en Afrique Centrale. Bien dynamique pour son âge, et appréciée par ses partenaires cette ONG nous est présentée par un témoin qui a mis les premiers bandages dans ce service hospitalier de Memisa.

Death of the Aunt of Father Francis Kangwa at the age of 100

Dear Friends and Confreres,

We received the news that the Aunt of Father Francis Kangwa, Banakulu Kapolo, died at the age of 100 in Kitwe, Zambia. The family celebrated her birthday last January. She was the elder sister of the father of Francis. The burial will take place on Thursday the 6th March 2014.

Let us pray for her and the family.

Missionary Oath and Diaconate of John C. Mubanga

Dear Elder Brothers,

Peace and goodness to you all! As for me, I am doing fine.

Well, this is just to express my gratitude for recommending me to take the Missionary Oath and receive the ministry of Deacon in the Church. I received the News with joy. I did not reply as soon as I received it because I was busy preparing for my 8 days retreat (from 21^st to 28^th Feb, 2014) and I could not have time to stay on the ‘net’ for so long. However, as expressed above, I am very happy and I ask you to continue praying for me to God so that he may grant me the graces I need before and after I take this importance step in my vocation journey. What the Lord has done is indeed what no one ever thought could happen and yet it is the very thing God prepared for those who love him in humility (cf. Dt 32:3). ‘For God, nothing is impossible’.

The Missionary Oath will be on 16^th of May, 2014. Whereas, the Diaconate Ordination will be on 17^th of May, 2014 at our Lady Queen of Peace Parish-Nairobi-Kenya.

Thank you very much once again and pass my regards to all.

Sussundenga in celebration – Mozambique

Every promise that we make in our life, no matter how small, is a landmark. This is what happened on the 16^th February 2014 in Sussundenga when Serge Kabwakila Kasombo made his declaration of Intent on the same day as Fr. Boris Yabre, M.Afr, was officially welcomed as curate.

The event started the day before with the participation of 73 young adults who shared theirs views on contemporary challenges affecting family life. A vocation takes root in a family and grows until it matures into marriage or religious life as the Declaration of Intent of Serge was intended to signify.

The Sunday celebration brought six Missionaries of Africa and three Stagiaires together with some Sisters and about 500 Christians who were jubilant throughout the Mass. The main celebrant was Father Richard Ujwigowa who received the declaration of Serge on behalf of Father Timothée Bationo, Delegate Superior of Mozambique. Other confreres did not managed to come because of the rain which had cut-off the road from Beira to Chimoio.

The readings and homily centered on the call made by the owner of all vocations; Jesus. As a good shepherd, he is the one who guides us, especially in times of difficulty. Serge trusted his own vocation into the hand of our Mother Mary when the choir sang the “Santa Maria”.

After Mass, in the Parish hall, all the families who contributed in the preparation of the day were invited to have a bite together enjoying a variety of food and drinks. Music and dance, both traditional and modern, added to the festive atmosphere.
