\"Bishop<\/a><\/strong>\u00c0s comunidades crist\u00e3s e a todos os homens e mulheres de boa vontade, queremos saudar com as palavras de Jesus Cristo Ressuscitado:\u201cA Paz esteja convosco\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

N\u00f3s, os Bispos cat\u00f3licos de Mo\u00e7ambique, reunidos no Centro de Forma\u00e7\u00e3o de Nazar\u00e9, Arquidiocese da Beira, continuamos muito preocupados pela vertiginosa deteriora\u00e7\u00e3o da vida social, pol\u00edtica e econ\u00f3mica do nosso pa\u00eds.<\/span><\/p>\n

Perante o recrudescimento de ac\u00e7\u00f5es de viol\u00eancia: acusa\u00e7\u00f5es m\u00fatuas, corte de estradas, raptos, esquadr\u00f5es de morte, com o desaparecimento e assassinato misteriosos de pessoas, enfrentamentos armados com muitas mortes de civis e militares, semeando luto nas nossas fam\u00edlias, renovamos o apelo que fizemos ao Governo e \u00e0 Renamo no dia 10 de Novembro de 2015 para o \u201csil\u00eancio absoluto das armas\u201d e para a\u201curg\u00eancia dum di\u00e1logo eficaz envolvendo as for\u00e7as vivas da sociedade\u201d. Exortamos igualmente a todos a respeitarmos a vida e a cumprirmos o mandamento do nosso Criador e Senhor: \u201cN\u00e3o matar\u00e1s\u201d (Dt5, 17).<\/span><\/p>\n

Apelamos vivamente a n\u00e3o ficarmos surdos ao grito do povo que noite e dia clama \u201cpaz, paz, paz\u201d; e a n\u00e3o ficarmos indiferentes \u00e0 den\u00fancia de D. Jaime Pedro Gon\u00e7alves, grande profeta da paz que disse: \u201cMesmo que toquem juntos todos os batuques de Mo\u00e7ambique, ningu\u00e9m ouve\u201d. Com ele afirmamos que \u00e9 necess\u00e1rio terminar com a ret\u00f3rica e as promessas enganosas, e ter a coragem de dar passos concretos para p\u00f4r fim \u00e0s hostilidades.<\/span><\/p>\n

Renovamos a nossa solidariedade com todo o povo mo\u00e7ambicano que, apesar destes sinais de morte, vive na esperan\u00e7a de uma aut\u00eantica paz. Reiteramos a nossa disponibilidade de buscarmos juntos o caminho da reconcilia\u00e7\u00e3o, da justi\u00e7a e da paz.<\/span><\/p>\n

Convidamos as nossas comunidades crist\u00e3s e todos os homens e mulheres de boa vontade para uma jornada especial de ora\u00e7\u00e3o pela paz e de solidariedade no dia 22 do pr\u00f3ximom\u00eas de Maio, Solenidade da Sant\u00edssima Trindade, Deus Amor e Miseric\u00f3rdia. A colecta deste dia ser\u00e1 encaminhada integralmente \u00e0 C\u00e1ritas Nacional para acudir \u00e0s necessidades dos mo\u00e7ambicanos Refugiados no Campo de Kapise, no Malawi.<\/span><\/p>\n

We would like to greet all Christian communities and people of good will with the Words of Jesus Christ the Risen One:\u00a0\u201cPeace be with you.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

We, the Catholic Bishops of Mozambique, gathered in the Formation Centre of Nazar\u00e9, in the Archdiocese of Beira, continue to be very much preoccupied by the vertiginous deterioration of the socio-political and economic life of our country.<\/span><\/p>\n

Faced with the recrudescence of violent actions such as: mutual accusations, the cutting off of roads, rape, death squad, the mysterious disappearing and murdering of people, the armed confrontations with many deaths of civilians and soldiers provoking mourning in our families, we renew the appeal that we made to the Government and RENAMO on the 10th<\/sup> November 2015 to \u201cabsolutely set their guns to silence\u201d, to\u00a0\u201curgently come to an efficient dialogue involving all the social bodies\u201d. We equally exhort all to respect the dignity of human life and to observe the commandment of our Creator and Lord \u201cYou shall not kill\u201d Dt: 5, 17.<\/span><\/p>\n

We are strongly appealing not to remain deaf to the cry of people who, night and day are shouting, \u201cpeace, peace, peace\u201d; not to remain indifferent to the denunciation of the great prophet of peace, the Bishop Jaime Pedro Gon\u00e7alves who said, \u201call the drums of Mozambique may be beaten altogether, no one hears\u201d. With him, we affirm that it is necessary to finish with the rhetoric and the false promises and to have the courage to make some concrete steps to put an end to the hostilities.<\/span><\/p>\n

We renew our solidarity with the Mozambican people who, despite these signals of death, live in hope of an authentic peace.<\/span><\/p>\n

We reiterate our availability to search together the way towards reconciliation, justice and justice.<\/span><\/p>\n
