\u200bFor Catholic priests and religious in Africa. Two months of professionally facilitated sharing of experience, skills and practical knowledge, leading to enrichment of the participants\u2019 professional, human, pastoral, spiritual and academic lives.<\/span><\/p>\n

Place<\/strong>:\u00a0Marian University College (MARUCO), Bagamoyo, Tanzania. Dates<\/strong>:\u00a0June 1st<\/sup> \u2013 July 31st<\/sup>, 2016<\/span><\/p>\n

COURSE CONTENTS:\u00a0<\/strong>The program covers the four areas of formation: personal renewal (human), spiritual deepening, pastoral empowering, and academic update.<\/span><\/p>\n

The program will cover the following: \u00b7 Bearing joyful witness to the gospel through my particular vocation \u00b7 Challenges of faith in contemporary Africa \u00b7 Dangers of various addictions \u00b7 Emotional intelligence and resilience \u00b7 Ethical issues in ministry (boundary issues, financial administration) \u00b7 Evangelii Gaudium: the Joy of the Gospel \u00b7 Exploring different ways of meditating\u00a0\u00b7 Gender issues\u00a0\u00b7 Graceful Transitions in Life\u00a0\u00b7 Interreligious dialogue \u00b7 Introduction to pastoral counseling skills\u00a0\u00b7 ‘Laudato si’ \u00b7 Justice, peace and Christian responsibility towards the Integrity of creation\u00a0\u00b7 Appreciative Discernment \u00b7 Leadership and Management \u00b7 Ministering in a globalised world\u00a0\u00b7 Retreat\u00a0(8 days) on the Joy of the Gospel \u00b7 Scripture and mission\u00a0\u00b7 Signature Strengths for mission \u00b7 Trauma awareness, bereavement, stress management & inner child work.<\/span><\/p>\n

Vision:\u00a0<\/strong>Integrated priests and religious in Africa giving joyful gospel witness in their personal, spiritual and pastoral lives.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mission:<\/strong>\u00a0To provide Catholic priests and religious in Africa with opportunity, space and time for personal renewal with a view of better service of the Gospel in the concrete reality of Africa today.<\/span><\/p>\n

Objectives:\u00a0<\/strong>1. Provide skills and opportunity for addressing personal challenges. 2. Provide space and time for reflecting on and integrating their lived experiences. 3. Training in pastoral skills. 4. Academic updating on Scripture, current trends in mission in the context of Africa and on the latest magisterial documents.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Methodology:\u00a0<\/strong>The methodology includes input sessions, one-on-one accompaniment and working with growth groups. There will be multicultural community living and team\u00a0working.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fees and scholarships: <\/strong>The full cost of the program is 2136 US Dollars. Candidates who will qualify for scholarships will pay only 900 US Dollars.\u00a0This covers: Full board, tuition, accompaniment fees, library and Wi-Fi for internet connection.<\/span><\/p>\n

Qualifications for applicants: <\/strong>\u00b7 Being Catholic priest or religious \u00b7 Being approximately 10 \u00b7 20 years in ministry \u00b7 Those in transition from one ministry to another will find it beneficial \u00b7 Being recommended by one\u2019s superior \/ bishop \u00b7 Having a reasonable mastery of English \u00b7 Willing to be open to share oneself with others for mutual enrichment and growth.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
