{"id":3117,"date":"2013-09-18T20:39:05","date_gmt":"2013-09-18T18:39:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mafrsaprovince.com\/?p=3117"},"modified":"2013-09-18T20:39:05","modified_gmt":"2013-09-18T18:39:05","slug":"nazare-social-study-week-no-to-slavery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mafrsaprovince.com\/index.php\/2013\/09\/18\/nazare-social-study-week-no-to-slavery\/","title":{"rendered":"Nazar\u00e9 Social Study Week &#8211; No to Slavery"},"content":{"rendered":"<address style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\"><i>12-15 September 2013, by <strong>Hugh Seenan, M.Afr<\/strong><\/i><\/span><\/address>\n<address style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\"><i>The social study week in Nazar\u00e9 was the climax of the three Provincial Capitals Caravan, Tete (Tete), Chimoio (Manica) and Beira (Sofala), promoting our anti-slavery campaign commemorating the 125<sup>th<\/sup> Anniversary of Cardinal Lavigerie, our founder\u2019s campaign.<\/i><\/span><\/address>\n<address style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\"><i>It was a joint week run by the Missionaries of Africa, the Archdiocese of Beira and SANTAC, the SADC sponsored group against Child Trafficking and Abuse. The participants included local traditional leaders, Catholic Secondary School pupils and their teacher, students and teachers from the Catholic University of Mozambique, local and provincial government agencies involved in this area, members of parish Justice and Peace groups as well as local religious and priests.<\/i><\/span><\/address>\n<address style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\"><i>With the help of SANTAC we had experts in the areas of law and social policy in this area.\u00a0 Key themes and presentations of the Missionary of Africa campaign were integrated into this.\u00a0 There was much interest and lively debate in a friendly atmosphere.<\/i><\/span><\/address>\n<address style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\"><i>Through SANTAC we had the presence of Fransisco J\u00fanior, the top television investigative journalist in Mozambique and correspondent of VOA. He spoke about a famous case he was involved in, a report on girls trafficked to South Africa.
