I told myself not to trouble the elderly Sisters when I cannot speak French and they cannot speak English! I wondered to myself what it would be like and as I thought of it, I said to myself, <em>\u201cI won\u2019t go but would propose to Agnes to go there when I could speak French!\u201d<\/em> Indeed, I tried to propose to her as, so far, since my arrival she has been so kind to show me around the place also because she can speak English easily. However, when I proposed to her to inform the Sisters that I would go there sometime later in March and not then, she did not agree with me. She believed that it would be no problem and that the Sisters did not mind at all even though I did not believe her. Mmmmnh! My plan to escape could not work.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">However, on that particular Sunday, after Mass, we prepared to go. We took a train and in no time, we were there! Inside me I was trying hard to recollect all little words of French I had heard or learnt before but to no avail!<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">We arrived in time before lunch so that I could greet the Sisters and be introduced to them and vice versa. Upon arrival, we found Sister Marie C\u00e9cile waiting to welcome us with a big smile on her face! I told myself \u2018now what to say Vicky\u2019 and before I knew it, I was also beaming with a smile, we hugged and said our <em>\u201cbonjours\u201d<\/em> and that was all, I was mute, my French was finished! Turning around, the Sisters were all there coming one after the other to greet and welcome us.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Nonetheless, surprisingly enough, the Sisters seemed not to mind at all that I could not speak French. What seemed to be more important for them was that a younger Sister, their own Sister, fresh from Africa was there to visit them. They were eager to hear from me the news about where I was coming from, what I was doing and so forth.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Inside myself, there was no question of language anymore but I was only filled with love for these Sisters of mine who were so happy and graceful! They are all old but very serene and happy, grateful for whatever they have been, lived and are in their life.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">At lunch, I sat with Sister Fran\u00e7oise de Traversay. We were in the same community during my postulate; Sister Agnes, who had accompanied me, Sister Claire-Michelle, who has worked in Uganda, and Sister Nicole Robion. I leave you to imagine the conversation!<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">To my happy surprise, after lunch, I saw each Sister getting busy with a little service. Some were cleaning the tables, others were cleaning the dining floor and others offered to place the washed dishes in their respective places! Noticing my admiration, one Sister explained that, in fact, they do most of the simple and sometimes big responsibilities themselves such as bursar, accounts, secretariat and administration! After it, they went for a short nap each to their room while Sisters Marie-C\u00e9cile, Francoise and Agnes took me for a walk through the<\/span> <a href=\"http:\/\/chambredescouleurs.france-i.com\/4362\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">park of Sceaux<\/a>. <span style=\"color:#000000;\">A very big and beautiful park.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/chambredescouleurs.france-i.com\/4362\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-11960 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/mafrsouthernafrica.files.wordpress.com\/2017\/03\/parc-de-sceaux.jpg?resize=500%2C308\" alt=\"parc-de-sceaux\" width=\"500\" height=\"308\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/mafrsaprovince.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/parc-de-sceaux.jpg?w=500&amp;ssl=1 500w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/mafrsaprovince.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/parc-de-sceaux.jpg?resize=300%2C185&amp;ssl=1 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a>In addition to the beauty of the day, at 2:30 pm, all the Sisters gathered in the sitting room where I was to share with them the video about the<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/mafrsaprovince.com\/2017\/02\/14\/farewell-of-the-msola-sisters-regiment-parish-lusaka-zambia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Thanksgiving Mass and departure of MSOLA from Zambia<\/a>. This moment was so solemn and created a reflective, appreciative atmosphere among the sisters. They were very happy and grateful that I had shared the video with them. They even proposed to show it to all the other communities I would visit later, in the days to come. At the end of the day we had a cup of coffee together and interacted more, it was wonderful!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">Perceptions and conceptions are not always what the reality is. Today I am happy to have a joyful, happy appreciation of our common mission. I was happy to see life among these elderly Sisters, looking at them being so happy and at peace with each other. I felt encouraged and I experienced God very close to his loved ones. F\u00e9licitation!<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\"><strong>Une belle histoire de <a href=\"https:\/\/mafrsaprovince.com\/2016\/11\/03\/sharing-in-the-joy-of-children\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">S\u0153ur Vickness<\/a> \u00e0 Paris, France.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Le 26 f\u00e9vrier, six jours apr\u00e8s mon arriv\u00e9e \u00e0 Paris, S\u0153ur Agn\u00e8s, qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 ma ma\u00eetresse de Novice, et moi-m\u00eame, sommes all\u00e9 rendre visite \u00e0 nos s\u0153urs \u00e0 Sceaux o\u00f9 nous avions \u00e9t\u00e9 invit\u00e9s pour le d\u00e9jeuner.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Je n&#8217;\u00e9tais pas s\u00fbr si je voulais vraiment y aller, car je ne parle pas la langue de Moli\u00e8re.Pourquoi d\u00e9ranger les s\u0153urs \u00e2g\u00e9es si je ne peux pas communiquer avec elles\u00a0? J\u2019ai plut\u00f4t pens\u00e9 \u00e0 m\u2019y rendre seulement lorsque je parlerais le fran\u00e7ais! C\u2019est ce que j\u2019ai propos\u00e9 \u00e0 S\u0153ur Agn\u00e8s qui \u00e9tait d\u2019ailleurs si gentille avec moi et peu parler anglais. Mais elle n\u2019a pas \u00e9t\u00e9 d&#8217;accord. Elle savait que les s\u0153urs ne se souciaient pas du tout de ce probl\u00e8me linguistique. Mmmmnh ! Mon plan de fuite n\u2019a pas fonctionn\u00e9\u00a0!<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Toutefois, apr\u00e8s la messe du dimanche, nous nous sommes pr\u00e9par\u00e9s \u00e0 partir. Nous avons pris un train et nous y \u00e9tions en peu de temps! Je m&#8217;effor\u00e7ais de me rappeler toutes les petites paroles de fran\u00e7ais que j&#8217;avais entendues ou apprises, mais sans succ\u00e8s!<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Nous sommes arriv\u00e9s avant le d\u00e9jeuner pour que je puisse \u00eatre pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 \u00e0 la communaut\u00e9. Nous avons trouv\u00e9 S\u0153ur Marie C\u00e9cile qui nous attendait avec un grand sourire ! Je me disais \u00ab\u00a0maintenant quoi dire Vicky\u00a0?\u00a0\u00bb et avant que je le sache, je rayonnais aussi avec un sourire. Nous avons simplement dit &#8220;bonjours&#8221;. C&#8217;\u00e9tait tout. J\u2019\u00e9tais muette ! Me retournant, les s\u0153urs sont apparues pour me saluer et nous accueillir.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Les s\u0153urs ne semblaient pas du tout g\u00ean\u00e9es que je ne puisse parler fran\u00e7ais. Ce qui leur \u00e9tait important, c&#8217;\u00e9tait de voir une s\u0153ur cadette venue d&#8217;Afrique pour les visiter. Elles \u00e9taient impatientes d\u2019avoir des nouvelles de mon pays, ce que je faisais et ainsi de suite.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">\u00c0 l&#8217;int\u00e9rieur de moi-m\u00eame, il ne s&#8217;agissait plus de langage. Je n&#8217;\u00e9tais que remplie d&#8217;amour pour mes s\u0153urs qui \u00e9taient si heureuses et si gracieuses! Elles sont toutes \u00e2g\u00e9es, mais tr\u00e8s sereines, heureuses et reconnaissantes pour ce qu&#8217;elles ont \u00e9t\u00e9 et v\u00e9cu dans leur plus jeune vie en Afrique.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">Au d\u00e9jeuner, je me suis assis avec S\u0153ur Fran\u00e7oise de Traversay qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 dans ma communaut\u00e9 pendant mon postulat. Agn\u00e8s, qui m&#8217;avait accompagn\u00e9e, S\u0153ur Claire-Michelle, qui a travaill\u00e9 en Ouganda, et S\u0153ur Nicole Robion. Je vous laisse imaginer la conversation ! Apr\u00e8s le d\u00e9jeuner, \u00e0 mon heureuse surprise, j&#8217;ai vu chaque s\u0153ur s&#8217;occuper d\u2019un petit service. Certaines nettoyaient les tables, d&#8217;autres le plancher de la salle \u00e0 manger, d&#8217;autres pla\u00e7aient les assiettes et plats lav\u00e9s dans les armoires! Remarquant mon admiration, une s\u0153ur a expliqu\u00e9 qu&#8217;elles assument la plupart des responsabilit\u00e9s; \u00e9conomat, secr\u00e9tariat et l&#8217;administration. Puis, elles all\u00e8rent faire une petite sieste dans leur chambre tandis que les S\u0153urs Marie-C\u00e9cile, Fran\u00e7oise et Agn\u00e8s m&#8217;ont amen\u00e9 faire une promenade dans <a href=\"http:\/\/chambredescouleurs.france-i.com\/4362\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">le parc de Sceaux<\/a>. Un tr\u00e8s grand et beau parc.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;\">En apr\u00e8s-midi, toutes les s\u0153urs se sont rassembl\u00e9es dans la salle de t\u00e9l\u00e9vision pour visionner une vid\u00e9o sur la <a href=\"https:\/\/mafrsaprovince.com\/2017\/02\/14\/farewell-of-the-msola-sisters-regiment-parish-lusaka-zambia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">messe d\u2019Actions de gr\u00e2ces et la fermeture de notre derni\u00e8re maison de Lusaka en Zambie<\/a>. Ce moment a \u00e9t\u00e9 solennel et a cr\u00e9\u00e9 une atmosph\u00e8re r\u00e9fl\u00e9chie et appr\u00e9ciative parmi les s\u0153urs. Elles \u00e9taient tr\u00e8s heureuses et reconnaissantes que j\u2019aie partag\u00e9 cette vid\u00e9o avec elles. Elles m\u2019ont m\u00eame propos\u00e9 de le montrer \u00e0 toutes les autres communaut\u00e9s que je visiterais plus tard. \u00c0 la fin de la journ\u00e9e, autour d\u2019une tasse de caf\u00e9, nous avons pu poursuivre nos \u00e9changes.
